Configuring ServiceNow
Before using Precision Bridge to migrate data to or from ServiceNow, ensure your instances are properly configured.
Insert Multiple Web Service Plugin
Ensure your target ServiceNow instance has the Insert Multiple Web Service plugin installed and activated. This plugin is necessary for performant bulk inserts and updates via Precision Bridge.
To verify the plugin is active:
- Log in to your ServiceNow instance as an administrator
- Navigate to System Definition > Plugins
- Search for "Insert Multiple"
- Confirm the plugin status is Active
If the plugin is not installed, activate it through the plugin management interface or contact your ServiceNow administrator.
User Permissions
The ServiceNow user account configured in your Precision Bridge connection should have:
- Read access to all source tables you intend to extract data from
- Write access to all target tables you intend to migrate data into
- Access to the Table API and Import Set API
Network Access
Ensure the machine running Precision Bridge can reach your ServiceNow instances over HTTPS (port 443). If you're running behind a firewall or VPN, verify that outbound connections to your ServiceNow instance URLs are permitted.
Next Steps
With ServiceNow configured, return to Creating Connections to set up your PB connections, then proceed to Creating a Project.
